Better late than never.

Hit the front pond at Ricks after work. Our spawn should be over by now, but we have had some major cold fronts this year, so I didn't know what to expect.
Started with a green hand poured beaver. Worked around the pond with no hits. All the way in the back is a small pocket that is joined to the pond by a small
channel. It's full of limbs and is tough to fish. I put the beaver over near the far bank and after popping over a limb, got a thump and set...

03/18/2009 - went to Ricks back pond. Started out with a t-rigged green worm. Worked down the bank from the shallow end to the deep end by the dam. Got 2 9

I kinda got out of the habit of getting on the computer. I took a holiday temp job at Academy Sports & Outdoors which took up most my spare time through
Dec, and after one fishing trip in Jan. I hurt my back(it's OK now) and couldn't set in the computer chair. I have still been reading all the posts at
work, but don't do any posting from there. So let me get caught up

Got Friday afternoon off, and hit Minton around 1:00. Went up the north side with a spinnerbait and got nothing until I got to the very back of the cove. Use
to be a small trail back there, but it was a real chore to get back there this year. Ended up ok though, got a 12"er and a little 8"er on back to
back casts. Went on around to the other cove, with no hits and then hit both little ponds. Changed to a t-rigged worm and started back at the cove where I

Did catch one little 10"er in it from the little brush pile I've been catching the from lately. Then went to a spinnerbait and went back around with

So much for the bite picking up with the cooler water. Hit the Hwy 321 pond after work. Wento over to the east side, I've always had better luck there. The
water level is way up there, and with the shoreline weeds growing out into the water, most spots you have to cast over from 10 to sometimes 30 feet of weeds to
hit open water. Pretty much meant you had to use something weedless or you'd be fighting the weeds more than the bass. So with that said I went with a
t-rigged worm (wind...

My birthday, took off work an hour early and headed up to Ricks front pond. The nights have been much cooler lately and the water must have cooled some,
because the bite was great and in completely different water as it has been all summer. The summer bite was always near the dam close to the deeper water, this
trip I caught most of them back in the cove in shallow water that has been dead all year, Started with an unweighted stickworm (senko knockoff) and got 7 on

Out to the back pond at Ricks. Low 80's, light wind, blue skies. I still had the buzzbait on from last trip, so I went down the bank and over the dam with
it just to see if anything would hit it during the sunlight. Did catch one little10"er on it. Switched to a unweighted stickworm (senko knockoff) and went

08/21 Storming off and on all day, so I went to the pond in Jacksonville. The one that I never get too far from the truck. Got one 13"er on a black
t-rigged worm. Good thing I picked this pond, after 45 minutes it got dark and the lighting was getting close. Got back to the truck just before the sky opened

Saturday, her birthday is the 14th). At the time I couldn't see another trip, so I told her I wouldn't make it. Well......just how many 80th birthday

fishing the deeper water off the dam. Figured that would be my best chance on this very sunny very hot day. Even hit the front pond on the way out, same story.
