I have done well for larger fish not necessarily fishing a full moon night but during a full moon rise. I have sat in a boat on a pitch dark night waiting on a full moon rise and made some good reports on this forum by doing so. I have planned fishing trips around a moon rise.

Coincidence or not, some of my best fish have coincided with a moon rise. Example last weekend, that fish nailed a tube 30 minutes before the moon showed it's self on the horizon. It was not my intention to fish a moon rise last weekend although that fish can now be added to a list of coincidences.

There is something going on with a moon rise and I just can not ignore it if I'm fishing one. I've experience an increase of wind during full moon rises and then the wind will lay back down after the moon has risen. Activity by critters on the bank increases. Surface activity on the lake increases.

I do feel the best time to fish a moon phase or a moon rise at night is during a shad spawn. And I never discount that bass do love crayfish and crayfish are nocturnal which might help explain some better fishing during a half moon when night fishing.

The moon is to important to our existence in the daylight or at night and I have a hard time ignoring that.

I am definitely not one of the doubters the moon has any part to play in fishing.
