On the scale that you guys are looking at with that lake, you're pretty much stuck with the stuff for a long time I imagine. We've got numerous reservoirs here in Indiana with the stuff, several of which have been issued as 'no' or 'limited' contact when blooms peak. It has also caused havoc some years with the drinking water, to the point one summer of most all restaraunts stopping the sale of or not providing water to customers near one reservoir that supplied drinking water.

They frequently spot treat with copper sulfate when blooms peak here, and the science and studying has been ongoing for several years. They are really learning quite a bit about the stuff in our local waters. No easy answers on this one. Could envision a big class action lawsuit at some point against all the farms in the region if tourism/business were to drop to the point of multiple businesses going under. That would get some attention quick by all concerned.
