Big Congrats to Cory and Adam. Cory is my buddy I've been fishing with in the past couple ones of these.

Thank you for the good luck wishes Rick, unforuntely luck was exactly what I lacked lol..

I pulled up on a spot I really like to crank and didnt get bit on my first pass. I changed colors, but stuck with the same crankbait. A couple casts later i caught short. Then another. And another yet again. I fished around a little more to give the exact spot a break, returned and two casts later hung a good fish. It got to the boat where I could see it was easily a 4+, only to watch it make a hard drive under the boat and come unbuttoned. I caught one small keeper and a handful of shorts from that spot, but never got another shot at a good bite.

The last half hour I spent buzzbaiting like a mad-man on random river spots. I had a good fish come up and swirl on my buzzbait but failed to get it to strike again. Less than ten yards later I had a good fish eat it, only to jump and toss it like nothing. So goes the story of my Tuesday nights haha.

Now back to Cory and Adam...I got a text from Cory saying he boated a 6lber and they lost two 4's. His 6lber ended up being the 5lber he weighed in, but the two 4's wouldve been Adam's. One was in the net, got out and just came unbuttoned. Another broke on his hookset, the first fish he broke all year. He was going to tell himself it must've been a pike, but then a big bass jumped with a jig in its mouth trying to toss it. Add those fish to their bag and they're pushing 15lbs. Good stuff!

At weigh-ins Cory asked me why i didnt make it back there on that spot. We discussed sharing it, as I had located some good fish there weeks ago. Since then we've caught a few fish off of it, but they've been quality bites. One Cory lost during our first time we double-teamed it was ridiculously huge and made that 5 look like it had some eating to do. He'll swear it was the biggest bass he ever had on, and I believe it. However, after hitting the spot I lost my good fish i decided not to make the trip with such a short time and felt confident i could mine that spot for another good bite and then make a last minute milk-run with the buzzbait to pull something off. Nope, got my rear beat. Either way, very pumped for Cory and Adam, they caught their 2nd keeper right there at the bridge with two minutes left..you know you're doing it right then!

Here's the Big Bass for the the night, representing Dukes! They do still swim around there

I'll be fishing an open tourney there in two weekends, and, unlike last night, will probably fish "that spot" pretty hard haha..then again, when you fish a body of water as much as I visit it, during tourney time the best thing to do is just go fishing. Here and there, this spot and that.  That's usually how my best days out there end up going anyways.

But..until then, I'll probably be heading to Dewart tomorrow to get a look at the lake before a classic at the end of the month.
