Thanks to everyone for taking a look. We all had a great time.

Jim, that was his first time in the field. He's not ready to be a regular hunting partner yet but he knows what he's doing and he'll improve every time he goes. Anticipating what I want him to do can only be learned through repetition. He has been finding dead planted birds in the yard every day since my season opened over a month ago. He picks up the birds but he doesn't bring them back to me unless he gets a treat. In the seventh picture he has just picked up a bird but he is wanting to walk away from me so he can keep it for himself. I was happy that he was with me even though he limits where I can go. Also, a retriever that stays at heel and is only used to find dead birds is more of an asset for hunting snipe than a pointing dog.
