Dont know if you'll see this in time before you head to the lake.  I always put some mono backing on before braid because the braid can sometimes start to slip on the spool.  Once that happens you need to take it all off and redo it.  Enjoy the new rod and reel.  I prefer spiderwire stealth over fireline because its a little more limp and a little quieter through the rod guides.  I wouldn't worry about the color too much.  I'm tempted to fish tonight as well but I'll have to wait and see how the evening is going.  Good luck.  Hope you guys catch some giants!
