The new season has started on Lake Chautauqua in New York. There were a couple new changes to this years rules. The first was you couldn't let your bass hit the carpet of the boat when landing or it would be a 2 minute penalty. The 2nd major rule change was you couldn't release your bass any higher than boat gunnel level. The first episode sees Denny Brauer and Tommy Biffle get penalized for tossing their bass back. Old habits die hard. The one observation I made that was different that wasn't mentioned was the scale they are using in the boat. They used the boga grip last year, and this year they are using the Berkley digital grip. Makes me feel better about what I use to weigh my fish.
Without spoiling too much about the show, I will say Greg Hackney has a real funny line during the course of fishing. Mike Iaconelli goes crazy screaming after catching a bass. The show then flips over to Greg Hackney's boat where he is within ear shot of the whole thing. He chuckles and says "If that were my kid, I think I'd have to give him a spanken".
lol I wasn't able to find that clip, but here's another from that show.
I will say the format of this fishing is far superior to anything else I've seen.
