We headed down to Washington County in southern Ohio for the weekend. Sat. morning was very cold, but the deer were moving. I didn't see any shooter bucks, as that was all I was after. Seen a few bucks that already shed their antlers. Ohio really needs to move this season back to Dec.! Chase connected with a doe after being on stand for about 30 min. (1st. pic) It was his 2nd. of the year and it left him with 1 more tag to fill. He hit her from about 75 yards. She went about 30 yards and piled up. My buddy George connected with a doe Sat. evening (3rd. pic). We had a lengthy tracking job to find her, but we did get her. She was a pretty good sized doe. Sun morning we headed up to another camp to put on some drives. I was about 150 yards from Chase. 3 does came flying through. I couldn't find them in my scope! Never got a shot. They went right to Chase and he dropped on from about 15 yards (2nd. pic). I thought they were going to run him over! Watched her go down about 25 yards from him. He filled all his tags and the freezer! Time to start making some jerky! The 4th. pic is a shed I found of a young buck. Looks to be a nice one in a year or two. All in all it was a good weekend. Chase was pretty excited about getting 2. That wraps up our hunting season. I would still bow hunt, but the bucks are losing their horns. Time to give them a rest and start getting ready to swing some fish in the boat!
