Well I finally made it to Huzzy Lake last night when I couldn't find anyone to join me that live near Austin Lake. Â I got to the lake about 9 pm and there were quite a few people hanging out and fishing at the launch. Â I decided to try skipping docks since it was still light out and started with the first one north of the launch. Â I caught a 12.5 incher under the first dock. Â I was slowly fishing my way around and trying multiple baits. Â It didn't take too long to catch the first keeper of the night, a 16.5 incher on the black buzzbait. Â Then I got another little one on the senko before another 16.5 incher on the buzzbait. Â Here's a picture of that one just because.

It had only been 20 minutes into the night and was doing surprisingly good. Â It was slow till I got to the first point where I got two 10 inchers, one on a max rap and one on a scatter rap and then a 12.5 incher on the max rap. Â It was about dark now, 10 pm, and I put away all my other rods except for the black spinnerbait and buzzbait, expecting the buzzbait to be the better bait. Â
I tried to rotate thru the two baits pretty evenly, still moving slowly along, and the first fish fell for the spinnerbait. Â It was 13.5 inches. Â Worked around the next point and caught big bass of the night, a 17 incher on the spinnerbait followed quickly after by a 12 incher. Â As I got to the north end I caught 12.25, 13.5, and 16 inchers on the spinnerbait. Â Then things slowed along till the next point with only a 10.5 incher on the buzzbait and a few missed hits on the spinnerbait. Â
I stopped at 11:30 and interrupted some catfishermen at the launch. Â It was a really nice to be out but there was a fair amount of pontoon traffic passing by and making comments. Â Apparently fishing at night is something freakish and I guess I was showing off by holding my big bass up in the light to get the hook out.
