I have been hitting the creek still about once a week. Not much has been happening though. I think I caught that same bass a third time from under the same brush pile not long after the previous two reports. The resident muskrats have really cleared out most of the vegetation from the creek. I witnessed the same thing last year. I got a few flashes from some trout the last time I stopped but no hook ups.

Today, it was just starting to rain a little bit with lots more rain coming so I had to try. I switched from the brown trout colored x-rap 4 I had been using for a while to a rainbow trout color. I usually start near the brush pile that the bass has been living under. I drifted my x-rap under the brush a little ways and started working it back with little jerks and felt some weight right away. I could see the golden brown flash of this trout around 11 inches I'm guessing.

The water is down pretty low in the creek so this rain should help. I may go back later today even to check that, while fishing. I had one flash from a better sized trout further downstream and another hit and miss below that one.
I have another trip to New York that will be mostly a fishing trip so I'm getting excited for that. I hope the fishing is good and might finally get to try some streams I haven't yet.
