I talked to a guy named Jon Howard at the barber shop today. Jon guides on the St Joe.
I asked about the new ramp location at 6 span and he offered that the state bought the land adjacent to the nursery for the ramp.
The entrance will be from 120 and not Cty Rd 19. He was told that the entire area may be paved. It will be long and narrow. There is also talk about it being a paid ramp, but who would man it for so many hours? I don't think that will fly.
The other item was the people that removed all the wood from the river. It seems their fine was only $2500.00.
That wasn't nearly enough.
Things are moving along to replace the original structure, but with what? The DNR, Water Resources, and other agencies are involved in this.
Its hard to beat what mother nature does.
