I didn't see as many weeds either this year. Our next tourney is on the
river in Niles so maybe I can have a better showing.

Concrats go out to or own Dukebass3 for coming in 1st with 8 plus pounds and big bass. All I could come up with was 1 keeper and about 15 short fish and 4
pike. The spot I caught 12 pounds at last year was where the 4 pike came from this year

I only broke a rod and spent $80 in gas; but its always worth a win!
I actually thought I blew my opportunity a couple of times. I had 4 keepers, but I lost 5 others! I really stunk. I caught all of my keepers under pontoon boats with a Komodo Dragon stix. I was working it ultra slow and I know that made a difference as my partner was fishing his much faster and only had 3 keeper bites. I believe the scent this bait has helps get some bites when other senko-type baits fail. You gotta realize, bass under docks see a lot of senkos. We tried shallow & topwater early, but only had a couple of small ones & pike. We tried deep and I got a few on a drop shot, but I figured the water was just too calm to stay on the mainlake. I made a good decision. But overall we just suck! We had 12 keeper fish hooked, and only landed 5... |

Good job, 1st palce!
Don't complain about loosing 7 of 12. Thats
58%, just keep getting 10 or 20 good bites a tourney and the limits will come. My problem is getting 5 bites and loosing one, thats a killer . Remember that even the best like KVD, loose fish.

Great finish Andy.
See what happens when you don't call me for help, you win! Seriously that was a nice day on the water but do you need to look at the hooks your using? Maybe too much bait for that model hook. Whatever, you got the important ones. Nice job! |

Jack, I'm never asking for your help again!
That's a good idea about the hooks Jack. But I lost most of my fish from them tangling up on something. I was soaking the bait so long at times I didn't notice a bite until it was too late. I had a 3# fish tangle itself on the transducer off a pontoon boat. It had 6" of line to flop around while I was putting the TM on high to get him, but he snapped off when I was still 10' away. It was one of those days. Joebass: I know your pain! Last time I was on Gun I had 4 fish and lost #5 that would have won the tournament with a pound to spare... And betting that I get 10-20 bites every time is only fantasy for me! |

Think positive, 5 bites in 5 casts. That takes 10 minutes. A tournament is 6 to 8 hours long. Its not impossible, maybe improbable, just keep
trying.
