Yesterday AM I was sitting in a restaurant on the banks of the Ohio and saw part of a bass T come by on their way after the start. Unlike Atlanta, they do
serve great biscuits and gravy down there.
The water looked to be in good shape and didn't reflect the high water we have in N. Ind. There was a bunch of fog though but these guys didn't seem to mind as they were running full tilt. I know there were logs of various sizes floating around out there as I saw a few that are part of the normal flow. These waters also get stirred up by tow boats that are really churning to get their cargo up river. These tugs move a lot of water with their props and will actually bring things toward them from shore as well as stirring items up that were best left on the bottom of the river.
Does anyone have any experience fishing the waters in this area? Is it mostly creek fishing or is flipping the tied up barges the way to go? Just wondering.
Are there any eels in the Eel River?
We crossed over this small river on our way home and my wife asked me about this. I'm sure there are/ were fresh water eels but I haven't ever had one on or saw one.
Anyone?
