Still narrowing down new water. I fished the length of a small shallow creek that enters the lake and still has a good channel that is not silted in. This
little creek intersects with a larger and deeper creek about the center of the lake. Guess the best way to describe what is going on, the lake runs north and
south and so does the main creek that feeds the lake. The smaller creek that I fished enters the lake
from the side of the lake and runs east and west. Those smaller creeks can show up clear on the Humminbird but can be practically invisible if looking at the bank from the boat with out a helping hand from technology. This
channel was very kind to me and I'll be fishing it again. Healthy Largemouth were caught by bouncing a crankbait along the edges of the creek, ran on to
a good pocket almost at the intersection of the two creeks. Then the Sandies(big ones) took over and the Largemouth bite stopped. Good little channel to
dissect for the future.
Spent the evening at lake #2 with out one bite, except for one out of a pile of timber that I had noticed two guys hauling Crappie from. This one weighed 6+ and caught it in the pitch black by worming a T-rigged, black neon Larew tube, Zoom tube rattle and all soaked with Yum craw scent through that same timber. One bump timber next bump felt spongy and heavy. Fish on!
Glad those guys left.
