I was able to go out and prefish a little with "Coach" on the Thursday before the tournament, and we checked alot of water with not many fish. We did
notice a decent amount of fish working the shallows in the mill pond so that was what I had to go with come tournament day.
We started on Sunday @ 7am to 3pm, and I headed straight to the mill pond along with another member of the club in front of me. So I knew he was going to go south when he got in the Mill pond so I just veered to the north edge and started fishing. I started off with a wacky rig, spinner bait, erie darter. I worked these 3 baits all along the the north edge, and finally when I got down near the dam area I hooked nad landed my 1st keeper right next to a pontoon. I continued around and the beach area as the post had been removed so I cut through there and saw a cruising fish in the shallows (which I saw several along the north edge, but hard to hook up) So I casted in an area in front the bass and let it set then finally wham! Another nice keeper into the live well!
I worked my way to the docks in the South East corner and they had been worked over very hard by the previous memeber but I had to try as I have had alot of luck there, but there was nothing to be found. So I headed out of the mill pond and as I came to the 1st pontoon to the south edge at the mouth of the mill pond I saw a nice 3-4# cruising but it had no interest in biting, but a couple pontoons down I hooked and landed a 18" older looking fish so 3 fish and 1 hour in! There were ALOT of big fish working the shallows down there.
Then the bite died there were some shorts in the mix but nothing entering the livewell until I went to the docks near the boat ramp. Then I hooked and landed #4 and just 3 pontoons later #5 (about 12:30) entered the livewell!!!!
So I worked my way to the culvert near pier 32 and made a cast with the wacky worm let it sit then I see a nice keeper swim past me, but then I relieved that is because his buddy is on my hook! So #6 and we start culling which is nice to do. After the short tuime of culling I cast in the culver let it sit for a bit and wham #7 comes to the boat and I am able to cull again.
I get to shore and was suprised to hear no other limits were brought in so I was feeling good!
Details:

Overall a good year I was in 1st alot of the year then George, and Crooked kicked my butt and moved me to a fianl standing of 4th.
If your going to fish the shallows on Hamilton I was suggest a wacky rig and let the rig sit as the fish seem really nervious!
* I believe there is a good benefit tournament this Saturday on Hmailton lake with a great pay out I would be curious to see how the weights are for it.
