Sodus is a tributary bay to Lake Ontario. This was the last trip of the year in Jeff's bass boat, but we might get out again in his john boat. We fished
just a little over two hours. His trolling motor is not powerful enough to handle the wind and weeds in combination. Jeff caught three bass, probably in the
14-16" range. He also had two solid strikes and lost a pike which he thinks might be the biggest he ever hooked.
I was really glad to see him get some action. He'd gone about 10 trips without catching more than one bass.
As for me, I got skunked. I had only one solid hit and it felt like a pretty good fish, but it came loose about 10' from the boat. The day before I lost what might've been my best one hooked in over a month. Stuff happens, I haven't exactly been knocking them dead. I just hope I get the chance to get out a couple more times and try to end the season on a positive note.
