We fished the classic for the MMM Wed niters at Niles, Mi yesterday.

We arrived at the ramp and were greeted by mud everywhere. The high water, which is still a bit high, had not only covered the ramp and dock but extended into the parking lot and created this soft river bottom mud carpet. What a mess.
Everyone waited to launch at one time because as soon as you put in the boat was swept downstream.
The water temp was 66.1 and air temp was 53.
Dan and I headed downstream to our starting spot and he popped a keeper within 6 casts. It then slowed considerably. After 2 hours we caught 2 more keepers in a 100' stretch.
We caught dinks all day including 2 that measured 13 31/32" but they just wouldn't touch on the golden rule. Mich. fish have to be 14".
Our fish came on buzz baits and Senkos.
At the weigh in, I forgot to ask Terry his last name and I apologize up front. Especially since he is a Skeeter owner.
First place Terry, by himself 9-3
Second Jerry Roher and Jim Wiltfong 8-3
Third Jack and Dan 5-1
Big bass was 3-6.
I'll spend my half at the car wash getting the carpet clean.
