O.K. I'm going to give out my secrets for this chain. I was going to fish a small lake today with Stew but turns out ther were already 6 boats on it when
I got there so I made alternate plans. Met up with Stew at the Outlet Malls and we headed north to the site of this fall's rally. We started south of the
ramp in Messenger and immediately caught some fish. Too bad they were short. Eventually, Stew managed a keeper but just barely. Off to Randall. There we
managed to catch zilch. Decided not to stay long. Went to Morrison and put together a fine pattern for fish between 5 and 14 inches. They love th
Joneso's there. Back to Randall we went into a channel. Again my dink pattern held true. I decided I would have to fish deeper than I am tall. I dug
deep in the box and pulled out one of those what do you call em? Jigs. Cast it out and dragged it back toward the boat. By golly, something took ahold of
it. Too bad I broke my line trying to set the hook a second time. Then, a light rain began falling. So we headed back toward the ramp. Fishing the channel
we again wacked some short fish.
The water is down and the ramp looks like you could hang your trailer if you back down too far. We didn't but it sure looks possible. I hope we figure out something for the rally. AT least it will be good company.
