Had really high hopes for fishing Turkeyfoot today based on the 32 crappie we caught last time.
It started off SLOW and stayed like that pretty much the whole day- especially for my dad. In about an hour and a half I caught one small 7 inch crappie, and my dad had nothing. In about another 2 hours I had a 17-20 inch channel cat, (thought a had big dadda crappie
) and 2 keeper crappie I just threw back (9-10" or so)
While my dad still hasn't gotten a bite.
We decided to walk back, hitting brushpiles along the way. Hit a few with nothing there, and stumbled across one that had a few crappies on it. My dad and I caught 7 off this one pretty small pile. We would of had a nice meal if we kept them, but we just threw them back.
Me- 6 crappie and a cat, Dad- 4 crappie
Found out the hard way these have some pretty nice teeth
