I went to three meadows pond and was fishing for bluegill and crappie with waxies on my ultralight rod. I was fishing for bass earlier and wasn't having
any luck so i switched over to gills just for some action. Well after about a half hour of that i was getting bored with it. I was catching plenty of gills
and a few crappie but nothing worth bragging about. I caught a 2" gill and took off my plastic worm from the rod i was fishing for bass with and slid the
split-shot up about 3 feet and hooked the gill on and heaved him out into the middle of the pond and leaned the rod up against the park bench and continued to
fish for gills and crappie two minutes later i look over and my bass rod is just going crazy. I run over to it and grab it and i know i got a very nice fish
on this thing was just stripping line and making run after run best fight i have had in a long time i figured it must be a huge largemouth or a big catfish
but when i got the fish up to where i could see it i was very surprised at what i saw. It was a huge hybrid stripped bass I didn't know they got this big
i have caught them in here before but almost all of them i have caught before have been 12-15 inches like white bass size. Makes me wonder how big these
things get in a pond and if there are bigger ones in there than this one. I think it was about 8lbs and around 24inches
