Another big one out of Oakthorpe! |
Lead | ||
|
Had nothing going on today so I loaded up the boat and went out to Oakthorpe. I had the lake to myself all afternoon. The pads are starting to thin out some.
The weather was pretty good. I had it in my mind that a jig would be the bait of the day. After about a 2 hours with a jig I had no bites. Things didn`t look
all the good. I then tried a frog in the pads and nothing. It was time to bring out the big guns, BUZZ BAIT! it only took about 10 cast and it happened! what a
blow up! right next to the boat. It was a nice one. After my heart slowed back down I got it back together and caught another one, not as big as the first one
but a good one. I only caught 3 fish but two of them was worthy of a picture. I did have my scales with me this time and the big one was right at 7 pounds. The
other one was 3 and one half pounds. Had a great day!!!!!!!! I my go back again tomorrow.

Great fish again Larry. Someone has to catch the big ones out of there this year. That buzz bait has been kind to you as of late.
Really glad you remembered your scales this time. Was this one as big as the giant you caught out there several weeks ago. Bill |

Ya know, you coming up here and catching all my big bass is starting to.... Just stay down there in your neck of the woods.
By the way Larry, I got word to the people who I thought stole your gas that you had a camera in your alarm system on your truck that took pictures every 10 seconds and that the pictures you got looked just like them and they were in the Sheriff's office being looked at. I haven't seen them at the lake since! Good job on the bass Larry, someone has to show us how it's done :) |

I haven't seen them at the lake since!That's one way to get rid of them. |

Erik White wrote:Erik, it's a private lake, so no you can't come here to fish it LOL Actually, it's about 3 miles from a little town called Pleasantville. And yes, it's a public lake and for people who's last name is "White". If you would be coming from the North, like out from Columbus, take interstate 70 East to State Route 37 and go towards Lancaster. Go past State Route 79, 204, and 256. Keep going straight and you will come upon a little hill and at the top of the hill you will see a crossroad...Pleasantvillle Road, make a left and go through Pleasantville. Keep going until you see a road to your left called Indian Run Road and turn left there. Go to the first road on your right and that is Grubb Road and it takes you right to the lake. |
