RangerTim and I headed north to fish Lake Fenton. We arrived early, and were wetting a line by 6:45 am.

This lake is characterized by crystal clear waters and very distinctive weed edges and flats. Water surface temperature was running 46 to 49 degrees. The winds were cool, but very light.

We started off zig zagging the shoreline going on top of the flats, and than back off them. There's weren't too many fish to be found on the flats, and the suspended fish we found off the flats and break lines wouldn't bite what we had to offer. After about half dozen pike and one lost lure to a pike, we threw in the towel on this lake around 10:45 am. We decided to see if our luck would be better on Tipsico Lake.

Despite leaving the lake, I gave it a thumbs up in it's layout. I really like the way it looked. I would venture to say it's probably a really good fishery, but the high pressure system had the bass shut down this day.
