I went out to Fish Lake (southwest of Laporte) for a couple of hours, 2.5, Saturday. I debated like crazy where to go. I decided to head here to avoid fighting the wind and to stay close to home. I was by myself. It was windy and cold.
I headed straight for a flat that was getting pounded by the wind tossing a jerkbait. After 10 casts, as I was reeling the bait back the last 10 feet, a little guy came and nailed it. I pulled him out. I immediately tossed the jerkbait back out. But I pondered: that fish didn't hit until that bait had a steady retrieve. So I reeled in the jerkbait and tossed a crankbait.
Good idea, my first cast produced my first keeper. I was happy, I was proud. I decided on a good spot to start, determined which bait to toss first, and it worked, and made an adjustment and that worked. I am a stud.
I was snagging like crazy in the weeds, which doesn't typically bother me, but it occurred to me, maybe I should toss a spinnerbait in these weeds. So I did just that, and on my first cast landed a fish. I never tossed another bait.
I only landed 13 fish, 3 keepers, but in just 2.5 hours, and it was the most success I've had in a while. All fish were 4' deep or less. All of my decisions were good and now... I'm awesome! Look out Heath Wagner, Phil Strakowski, Larry Regina, and the rest of the Michigan BFL anglers, here comes the Buss!
Did I mention a website yet? I posted it on the General Discussion board last week, but it was promptly moved to the website page, and I know no one looks at that page. So, I'm mentioning it again: www.randbbasscircuit.com The best tournament circuit in the Michiana area - check it out!

You didn't need to explain yourself, I understand and respect it all.
