Just a nice pic of my boat shining in the sun before I quit for the day.

Went to Paw Paw Lake for my now annual birthday fishing trip. Ended up by myself, a couple buddy's ended up being busy. Got there around 6 am at the west
launch. Surprisingly the moon was out and it wasn't terribly cold, around 40-45 degrees and pretty windy out of the west. Started fishing right from the
launch in the channels because I've usually caught a fish or two in them. At 6:45am I landed my first bass on a senko casting into a leaf filled boat slip
spot not to far from the launch. I purposely decided to follow the superstition about leaving the net and measuring board locked away until the first fish was
in the boat. The bass was 18 1/4 inches and 3 pounds 4 ounces so I put him in the livewell hoping for a nice picture at the end of the day. Well, I think
that began the livewell curse because it was slow after that. I spent some time in the channels trying the senko, a new sexy shad crankbait which I may have
missed on bite on, not sure, a buzzbait, a jerkbait, a 3/4 oz spinnerbait, and a rattletrap. Eventually I worked into the main lake trying docks and the deep
weed edge. I moved over to a large mainlake point between the two main lobes. It was windblown and the water seemed a bit silty, water clarity was maybe 3-5
feet. Tried a blade bait, jerkbait, spinnerbait and rattletrap. Moved to the other shoreline out of the wind and fished a point there and tried the docks.
Also cast a bladebait in 20-30 fow and ended up catching a decent pike that was probably around 27". I let him shake himself off next to the boat. The
water seemed a bit high as well, most of the docks were down into the water and I couldn't skip under a lot of them. I eventually caught another
largemouth that was 18.5" and 3 lbs 6 oz skipping a senko. The sun was out with little clouds so I thought the dock bite would only get better throughout
the day but no such luck. I tried in the channels a couple times and some docks in the southern part of the lake that were out of the wind. I fished till
3:30 and water temps ranged from 50-51 degrees. 2 bass, 1 pike, similar to last years bday trip of 2 3 pound bass, the year before that I landed a 5 pounder
to go with my 2 3 pound bass. Not bad, I go there because of the big fish, and thats what I caught.

I just started keeping results from my fishing trips this year, mostly measurements, but some weights as well and I averaged 1 pound larger( per fish!) than at
the 6 other lakes I had weights taken from. I averaged 2.7lbs at Paw Paw from 19 fish and 1.7lbs at Austin, Long and Three Mile, 1.6 at West, 1.4 at Sugarloaf
and only 1.0lbs at Huzzy lake but I weighed all the dinks that trip so that one is skewed. Definetly quality fish in Paw Paw Lake when you catch them.

Very nice. If you're gonna catch two, might as well make them quality ones.

Nice job Tritonman, Paw Paw does have alot of quality fish in it!! Happy Birthday!! Looks like you didn't have to go to Pipestone for a good one. But,
are you sure that you're not holding the same fish? They look an awful lot alike. Maybe photo enhanced that fish into the other hand also????
Just messin' with ya, awesome job!!
