Gosh was it ever cold and windy at the quarry today, fished from 12:15 to 2 pm, dats when I could not stand it any longer, I was cold to the bone.
9 gills-1 trout-1crappie.
Today was different, the wave action was higher than any other trip so far this year, my float was almost to active with the wind and waves but what I think made all the difference was this time I was using 2 lb clear mono and a #14 hook, ( blame Zig for putting me up to using this small hook ) but it worked great, I thought this tiny hook will never hook these fish, wow only 2 misses.
I also used a foam float today that I altered by cutting it in half to make it really small and the gills pulled in under very easily.
#14 hook and a small split shot 12 inches up the line and than my foam float 6 feet above that.
Well the fish are not only cleaned already they were eaten for supper along with apple sauce.
