Tried Paw Paw Lake with a couple buddies from 6:30-11:30am. Water temps were around 63-65, it was foggy all morning and there was basically no wind. I was planning on working the channels hard with senkos right next to shore and around docks for any bedding bass. Right away the plan wasn't working so well because of lots of floating piles of weeds up against the shore and spread through out the channels. We left those channels and hit the main lake for a bit, and then tried another small channel and could see bass on beds there. I caught a 17 incher quickly and a friend caught one that was 15 1/2 inches and then I lost a smaller one. We hit another little spot and the other friend caught a 14 1/2 incher so we all caught one keeper by 9am, but then it got really slow. We tried the channel with the bedding bass again with no luck, and tried the channels we started in and I caught a dink on a jerkbait. Fishing by some lilly pads I caught another keeper at 15.75 inches on a jerkbait fishing the deep weed edge that finally had a slight breeze on it around 11am. Other than a couple misses that was our day. I was expecting a little more but I had forgotten how weedy that lake gets and so we spent a lot of time pulling weeds off our senkos.
