I'll let the "brothers" post the results as they had all the stats on computer but conditions were special.
The river has been high since the rains but yesterday morn before the start they released some more water and with it came junk of all nature. Logs, heavy grass and weeds, and even a section of dock.
It was still total dark when Dan put me in and even then I could see that the water was the ugliest color I've seen since the floods. Total chocolate milk with all this other stuff thrown in. This was not going to be an easy day.
We started at our first choice and it was immediately apparent that all plans were out the window. I told Dan we're moving, so we picked up and started looking for clear water. We ended up at the back of channels along with some other boats and after a while managed our 5 keepers from three different locations. I knew that we would need at least one kicker to get in the money and we worked at getting it to no avail.
The top finishers had that special fish that put them over the top.
The weather service was calling for clear skies and mid 70s but this didn't happen till it was almost over. We had winds, mist, and cool temps for most of the day.
The Mishawaka Fire Fighters put on another great and well run contest. Good job to all !
