First bass for the new Kota turned out to be a pretty good chunk.
Half ounce spinnerbait in skinny, muddy water. Where the Bluegill's live.
And Rick your right about that button switch on the Edge. Second fish came in a little cleaner water where the shad seem to live the most, but still in timber. The rod tip bounced while pitching a plastic so I set the hook, thought I felt something alive on the end but then got discouraged because next was dead weight. There was a pretty stiff breeze blowing into this heap of scrub brush and stumps and while trying to find the button switch and hold on to a rod the boat crashes in to a stick-up and bout knocks me over board. Did manage to grab hold of the chair before almost taking a swim though. While I'm getting my #h*t back together again the line starts swimming off and ends up under the boat. So now my #h*t still is not together and I have a fish on. Pretty good one too. Good part of the story is I got it in the boat finally. And managed to go ahead and put #h*t back together enough again and finish out the day fishing. Fish got smaller though, 12 probably, total. Small fish when the water starts to cool is pretty typical in early Fall/late Summer but hold on to the rod because there will be some fatter chunky ones feeding too.
The rod tip just bent over on one fish and I didn't get a hook in it. Those are the ones I think about about on the drive home.
Air temp 94 water temp 82-85. Winds from the south/east 10-20. Sunny blue sky.
Good fishing to you guys!
