My buddy and member on here but he doesn't post much Josh went to try a spot out he fished back in his high school days. He warned me it was a long walk since we had to park at someone's house then make the long hike through woods and open feilds to get to this spot. well with the 8 to 14" of snow laying on the ground the walk really sucked!! The whole time I was thinking there better be some fish in this place. There was no path to walk on or follow. We were blazing a new trail in the week and a half old snow. After what seemed like many hours of walking (prolly more like 35 min) we arrived at the pond.

You can see there are not any other foot prints in the snow at all!

Clearing a spot for Josh's 4 man pop up shanty. We found after drilling a hole that the ice was very thick at 14" or more but had lots of air bubbles in it and was cracking and popping alot while drilling it. It made for a very uneasy feeling for us both since we both knew the car was a very long walk away if we did get wet.

Here you can see another view of the pond. It's kind of a long skinny deal with trees fallen in from the sides. We did best fishing around these down trees.

I think Josh ended the day landing 4 bass this one was the biggest of the bunch I'm pretty sure. We caught alot of gills, green sunfish, crappie, and bass. If I had to guess we prolly landed 150 fish? A wave of fish would come through and it was fast paced action for 10 minutes or so then it woulkd slow down so i would go drill another hole and it seemed to start all over again. Once that hole would slow down I'd go back to the last hole and it would be on fire again.

Here are some of the keepers we took home. The bigger one on the right is prolly my new PB gill. Thing didn't measure well at 8.5" - 9" but man was it fat and heavy!! I think we are going to figure out how to get a boat in there for the bass fishing this year. If we have to drag a inner tube back there we will. I'm pretty excited about this new hole for us to explore. Maybe the ice will get better with this warm up and refreezing?
