Well went to WI this last week and took my son with me. Had to do some persuading with his mother. But I won the battle in the end. I decided to try and bow hunt even though it was muzzleoader season. I also decided that the first buck to come by I was shooting. Well we were in our heated ground blind, that I brushed in to the pines really good. I caught movement to our right and seen it was a small buck headed our way. I look over to my son and he is fast a sleep. I tried to wake him quietly but didn't get it done soon enough. He woke up just in time to see him walking out of range. So we went in for lunch and was back out for the afternoon hunt. Didn't take long for us to see a couple does off in the distance. This kept his attention and he was on the look out for more deer. Shortly after those does were gone we had three come down a trail with in 10 yards of the blind. My son asked if I was going to shoot one, and I told him we were waiting on a buck. 15 minutes later a this buck was following the scent trail my son made when we came back in. He gave me a quartering away shot at 10 yards and put my arrow on the mark. He only ran 50 yards before expiring. I seen him fall but my son wasn't able to. So I let him follow the blood trail all the way to the deer. I have been blessed with another great year in the deer woods, and this will be a memory I will never forget. Having my son with me, this buck will mean more to me than any other.

He wanted to help drag him out which was fun to watch.
